Sweet. Kind. Helpful. Considerate. Humble. Happy. Friendly. Strong.
Just a few words to explain my son. This is Cobi, 19 years old. Cobi has been diagnosed with a Developmental Disability, Anxiety Disorder and OCD. But this doesn’t limit him. He has come a long way since he was a little boy, learning new skills, becoming an automobile expert, earning his Junior Black Belt in Karate and charming his way into everyone’s hearts.
Car expert, yes, that is what he is. You ask him about any car, and he can tell you what make that car is. He knows his stuff, and if you pronounce the car incorrectly, he will make sure you get it right. Ever since he was a year old, and his Papa gave him his first dinky car, Cobi has been hooked. To this day, he still does not go anywhere without at least one car in his hand. He is also my very own personal policeman. He makes sure I am driving the speed limit and obeying all of the rules of the road; I have no room for error. Cobi is quite addicted to his iPad. It goes with him everywhere he goes, as well. If he isn’t watching videos of car races, bad driving and burn outs, he is playing a video game about cars.
When Cobi was 8 years old, he started his first Karate class. 10 years later, I am living with one tough cookie. Be careful, he doesn’t mess around with his skill, so don’t be edging him on. He has achieved many 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards in the various Karate tournaments he has participated in. He works hard, gives his best and always encourages the others, whether they are from his dojo, or not. Cobi has The Best Sportsmanship attitude of anyone I know. We call him The Gentle Giant, because, well, basically that is what he is. My big lug with a big heart. It’s no wonder my son graduated from high school receiving the Citizenship award.
Talented. Graceful. Energetic. Generous. Loving. Intelligent. Beautiful. Creative.
This is everything my daughter is, and more. This is Piper, 14 years old, but wise beyond her years. From a very little girl, she was always wanting to share with the less fortunate. She even created a charity, called “Helping A Family In Need At Christmas”, raising money to provide gifts and a full traditional meal for families who struggle. She befriends those who seem lonely, she includes everyone in her circle and she always finds a way to encourage others.
Piper is a dancer. She has been dancing since she was only 2 years old. The list of awards and accomplishments through her dancing is never ending, she truly shines on stage. Piper is also a singer, she has been singing since she was 4 years old. The gifts and talents this child holds is incredible, she never ceases to amaze me. Considering that she was born with a heart murmur, 2 holes in her heart, and no hearing, in where she has progressed today, she is truly a wonder!
Aside from annoying her brother and cuddling her kitty cat, Simon, Piper likes to binge watch her favourite TV show “Friends”. Piper definitely has her own sense of fashion, she marches to the beat of her own drum in that regard. But kudos to my child for her conservative style, and not always following the crowd; she is a natural born leader.
